EXAMPLES OF ACTIVITIES SUPPORTED BY THE TRUST

Since its inception the Trust has supported a wide range of charitable activities.

Several churches receive annual assistance, as do the activities of locally directed health charities and community groups. Sports clubs and a number of outdoors activities have benefited, and small capital projects are supported.

Below we provide a few examples of activities we have assisted.

Sports Clubs

SOUTH TYNE SPORTS CLUBS

The Smith Trust has supported activities of local sports clubs, including Haltwhistle Cricket, Haltwhistle Junior Golf, Tynedale RFC, West Tynedale Junior Rugby, Haltwhistle Jubilee Football Club. The Smith Trust has been a proud sponsor of the Annual Open Pairs Competition at Haltwhistle Bowling Club.

Finalists of the Haltwhistle Bowling Club Open Pairs Competition receive The Smith Trust Trophies.

Haltwhistle Golf Club – The Trust supported Junior Golf and equipment.

Haltwhistle Bowling club provide both general exercise and competitive opportunities for players of all standards, hosting friendly roll-ups through to county competitions. The club host an annual pairs competition in June and it attracts players from around the country – the competition and trophies are sponsored by The Smith Trust. Haltwhistle Golf Club has received backing for junior coaching as well as maintenance equipment and clubhouse repairs.
