THE SMITH (HALTWHISTLE &
DISTRICT) CHARITABLE TRUST
EXAMPLES OF ACTIVITIES SUPPORTED BY THE TRUST
Since its inception the Trust has supported a wide range of charitable activities.
Several churches receive annual assistance, as do the activities of locally directed health charities and community groups. Sports clubs and a number of outdoors activities have benefited, and small capital projects are supported.
Below we provide a few examples of activities we have assisted.
The Haltwhistle Partnership

the haltwhistle partnership
The Haltwhistle Partnership brings together everyone with an interest in the well-being of the Haltwhistle area and its communities. The partnership integrates public, private and voluntary sectors and local communities to meet the needs of local people. Over the years the Smith Trust has supported a number of activities that have come under the umbrella of the Haltwhistle Partnership, such as: The Older People's Project; The development of Memory Cafe established to support those living with and caring for suffers of dementia; The Haltwhistle Growing Together project where volunteers have set up a community allotment for growing produce and cookery talks; The Zig Zag project that targets people who feel isolated due to disability, unemployment and mental health issues, and provides both trips out and social gatherings in Haltwhistle.
