EXAMPLES OF ACTIVITIES SUPPORTED BY THE TRUST
Since its inception the Trust has supported a wide range of charitable activities.
Several churches receive annual assistance, as do the activities of locally directed health charities and community groups. Sports clubs and a number of outdoors activities have benefited, and small capital projects are supported.
Below we provide a few examples of activities we have assisted.
West Northumberland Food Bank
West Northumberland Food Bank
The West Northumberland Food Bank is based in Hexham and runs a delivery (only) service for those that find themselves in difficulties at these challenging times. They deliver to Haltwhistle and the South Tyne area, as well as communities to the east and north. The Food Bank accepts donations of food and household goods, delivering over 150 large bags every week. The Smith Trust makes a donation to support the Food Bank’s operations.
